Red Hook Resolutions

In 2010 The Town and Villages formally adopted the 10% Challenge energy-saving campaign.  Now we're coming together to be part of a Dutchess Drawdown EcoChallege.

Take Inspiration from the Challenge

In 2010 our community took these pledges for change: 
1. Drive fewer miles per year (through carpooling, telecommuting, putting kids on the school bus, combining errands, etc.). (54.3%)
2. Stop junk mail. (51.4%)
3. Change incandescent light bulbs to compact fluorescents (CFLs). (45.7%)
4. Refrain from aggressive driving: adhere to speed limits, avoid quick starts and stops. (42.9%)
5. Turn my thermostat down in winter. (42.9%)
6. Help friends, neighbors, and family members reduce their energy consumption. (42.9%)
7. Wash laundry in cold water. (37.1%)
8. Put electronic devices (computers, TVs) on a UL-approved power strip and turn the power strip off when not in use. (37.1%)
9. Weatherize my home by sealing around windows and doors. (34.3%)
